A colorful wedding in Crete: a mix of European and Indian cultures

Amalia and Jason
Concept
Four cultures were united at this wedding: Indian, European with American notes, Latin American and Greek.
Amalia was born in London, while her mother is Colombian, and father is from Greece. Jason, like Amalia, was born in London. As for his parents, they have Indian roots. Nowadays the couple lives in America. After long discussions, it was decided to celebrate the wedding on the beautiful island of Crete in Greece. During two wedding days all four cultures were combined.
Wedding day

Indian wedding with all the Hindu rituals and traditions as well as a vegetarian lunch was organized on the first day. After that, all the guests had a boat trip with dinner in a Greek fish tavern. The day ended with a party and its Latin American and international playlists.

The program of the second day included a European ceremony with an aperitif, a gala dinner, a performance by a well-known band in Greece and a party with a DJ.
Decoration

The wedding décor was designed to represent the traditions of cultures.
Due to the Hindu traditional decorated venue for the marriage ceremony (Mandap), well-designed wedding outfits for the bride and groom, as well as the guests’ festive Indian attires. It seemed that it was the wedding taking place in India.
Everyone could totally feel the colorful spirit of the island surrounded by the olive branches, laconic vases, evil eye protection amulets that all the guests had as souvenirs, (and, of course, Greek cuisine with its traditional serving).
All details together: the classic design of the ceremony and dinner, photo zone, a cake with flaming fountains, the first dance, fireworks and other special details – created the elegant European wedding.
